Fringe on handbags is one of those recurring trends. So much so, that it really can’t be called a trend anymore. What I find interesting is the variations that come with each passing season. What I mean is, there are trends within this trend. Check out the Yves Saint Laurent Cabas Chyc and you will see what I mean.

This might sound a little strange, but when I go hiking I like to carry with me a shopping tote. I just hate backpacks. So when we went on vacation last summer, I took a big floppy shopping tote with me for the mountain trails instead of a backpack. It was actually quite comfortable, but I didn’t have much more in it than a camera and some snacks. As you might have guessed, I have become quite partial to shopping totes now. I love looking at them everywhere I go! That’s why I am loving the Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Printed Shopper Tote!

Perforations are back! At least in the House of Fendi they are. This time around, they arrive with an unusual presentation. A couple of season’s back, we saw the handbag within a handbag trend, a style fond to the peculiar bagista. This season, Fendi has selected both fashion statements and merged them together to create the ‘B Fab’ Perforated Bag. Thoughts? It originally reminded me of the Dooney & Bourke Florentine Collection with its vintage leather body, embroidered front patch and its dangling tassels gave off that impression as well.

When I first glanced at the bag you see here, I wasn’t really sure what I was looking at. This is a bit embarrassing, but I thought it was some sort of “ink blot” design. You know, like the ink blot tests a psychiatrist might use. Then I realized this was a bag from Karl Lagerfeld’s new line that just debuted (and is being exclusively offered) at Net-A-Porter. Haha!
The new line, appropriately titled KARL, is all about downtown style. KARL offers a great selection of clothing, shoes, and handbags. The best part? Mr. Lagerfeld has brought us all of this at a price everyone can afford. Most items fall within the $100 to $400 range!

It’s yellow and slightly mellow! Diane von Furstenberg always carries out neat pieces that make fashionable and perfect casual wear. One of the latest arrivals to the Furstenberg collection is the Printed Kaya Tote, a nicely sized and patterned tote bag that arrives beach or poolside ready.

When I was in school, I was one of those women that hated carrying around a bulky book bag and I always dressed nice. You better believe it, heels were a must everyday. I remember walking from the library to my class one day and someone shouted out, “Hey Pantene girl, it’s college not a fashion show”. It was mean but I shrugged it off since the person saying this was wearing pajamas to school. Pajamas, really? I wouldn’t be caught dead arriving to college in pajamas but of course that’s just my opinion.
I always carried my books in my hand, in one of my designer bags or in a Sex and the City tote. Sometimes it got so heavy and everything never fit in one bag. When you have a lap top, books, notebooks, folders and other school essentials it’s not easy to fit it all in one bag so something was always carried in my hand. Now if I had the Anya Hindmarch “Homework” Tote it looks like everything would of fit with no problem!

Unique silhouettes and sharp leather edges is my impression of 3.1 Phillip Lim. The House presents extremely structured and refined accessories that may come off as undesirable to the classic-style Bagista. If you seek to get out of the comfort zone made up of roomy totes and elastic leather satchels, discover the framed and chic presentations of Philip Lim, such as the beautiful Pashli Satchel.
